Why Bots Are Sometimes Acceptable

Woah, I know, is this Shab saying that bots are not always illegal? What happened to the anti-hacking bill? What is this nonsense?

Yes, I am saying that and the anti-hacking bill still applies, I just believe it should be appended to fit the current shape of armies. I believe, after thinking about this for a while, that bots are acceptable for training and practice.

I believe that a bot army can help either demonstrate a tactic, different divisions, or just provide an enemy for an army to attack during staged battles.

Bots are only bad when they ruin wars by spamming an army, throwing the battle one-sided, or when they just come in and cause chaos.

This about it, if you want to stage a war you either need another army to participate or you need to split your own army up. They aren’t just going to stand there, they’re gonna fight you. That means you will be trying to practice a maneuver or tactic at the same time that you’re trying to win the battle. There is no “stop, back up, lets try this again.”

Now the other option, splitting up your army. Armies these days aren’t exactly “large.” Sure, you might be able to get a 10 on 10 or 15 on 15 but the army you are fighting will (hopefully) be around 20 people, maybe even more. Sure you can stage a small battle and then just use what you learned there for a larger battle, but what about the times that the army is larger than you? What happens with you aren’t evenly matched? I won’t even get into the fact that half of the army is learning one set of tactics while the other is learning another set in order to make the battle seem legit.

tl;dr Bots are good when used for practice battles and training. They SHOULD be taken advantage of and used when possible because they are an expendable resource that can be molded and used however a leader may like. As long as the bot master shows up, the pretend enemy will be there.

  6. I love the concept. Very cogent points. This way we can not only practice tactics at training sessions, but maneuvers as well. Something not very commonly utilized in my opinion.

        • And that’s where the loophole starts. Who clarifies when the bot use for recruitment is acceptable, and what gives them the power to do so? There’ll always be some butthurt kid opposing it.

          • Well when the recruiting is on your own server and not during a time in which another army is invading that server, then you are free to do what you’d like.

As for the butthurt kid, there is going to be a kid mad no matter what happens. Doesn’t even have to involve bots. It just so happens that we will hear complaints from a different set of people should armies start using bots since right now the only ones complaining are pro-bots.

What you said was very true. We shouln’t be running around screaming when bots attack, we should be taking advantage of them 😀
