Top Ten Armies: 09/29/12

It’s Sunday, and from now on, that means another Top Ten. This week has been interesting as armies see no shortage of falls. We’ll also see how this huge war, perhaps even an up-and-coming World War, has affected army’s performance. I hope you enjoy.

1. Ice Warriors: The IW continue to hold out their spot at first for something like the fifth consecutive week; seemingly unbeatable. As all armies fall, IW is rising, and their rise is not going unnoticed. They began the week by reclaiming their capital of Sub Zero from the Light Troops in an ongoing joint war, where IW was assisting the Army Republic. Soon after, the Light Troops and IW reached a ceasefire, and as IW dropped out of the war LT went on to face AR only. On Wednesday, the IW had a spectacular recruiting session, where they reached sizes of 30-35. Now, just recently, the IW, along with the DCP, AR and perhaps ACP, have broken treaties and declared war on the Light Troops, in what very well may culminate into a World War.

 2. Light Troops:The LT retain their spot at second this week, while the IW continue to beat them out for first; nevertheless, the LT had a very good week. The week began as they claimed victory on the servers of Southern Lights, Ice Cold, and Berg, as their war with the AR continued. As AR was a no-show to LT’s invasion of Slushy in a tactic to “ignore LT’s invasions since they had ignored IW’s”, so LT also claimed victory there. As the war continued, the LT and AR signed a treaty, and the war ended. However, soon after, the LT was pounded by an alliance comprised of DCP, AR and IW. That war continues to rage on as we move into next week.

3T. Doritos: The DCP has also had a good week, although they have had their fair share of administrative scandals/issues this week. The week began with a post by Alfrondo, addressing the fact that Wwe had allegedly taken a bribe and given Sccott, former DCP LIT, Leader. The same day, Sccott was couped, and reinstated at his former rank of LIT. That same day, the DCP faced the Nachos on Fjord, the outcome being that the two armies split the server 50/50. Then on Monday, the Nachos were a no-show in DCP’s invasion of Snow Fort, thus DCP claimed victory. After defeating the Nchos in the Defense of Breeze, the war ended, but shortly after, DCP went to war with LT.

3T. Army Republic:The AR make it to third this week, tieing with the DCP. They began the week as their war with LT raged on, claiming victory on the server of Ice Cold. The AR then chose to ignore the other invasions of LTs’, under the notion that since LT ignored IW, that they had the ability to ignore LT. The next day, AR claimed victory on the server of Crunch, along with the accusation that LT was using Pirates to assist them. However on Tuesday, AR and LT came to an agreement and the war ended. This didn’t last long, however, as AR allied with DCP and IW against LT, with the war just starting.

5. Pirates: The Pirates also had a good week, with no shortage of involvement in the crossfires of these wars. They began the week with a really great showing on the server of Klondike, where they reached sizes of around 25. The next day Lord Pain, former Leader of RPF, GT, DCP, ST, Pretzels (x2), and RPF (just to name a few *wary*) came to the Pirates as leader. A few days later the Pirates claimed victory on the server of Mittens, with sizes of around 15, and on Wednesday on the server of Flippers.

6. Army of CP: The ACP had one of their best weeks in a while. The week started with the best event they had, against Pirates on the server of Mammoth, where they claimed victory. The next day they once again show pretty good sizes of 15-20 on the server of Klondike, which ended in a draw for both armies. On Thursday, the Pirates invaded Sled, which ACP claimed victory on, with sizes of only 10, however Pirates only showed with about 4. The ACP is rumored to have joined the allied war against LT on the side of AR/IW/DCP, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

8. Pretzels: The PCP had a fairly decent week, however with only two events. They maxed out at 17 in the first one, but only reached sizes of 5 at the second.

8. Nachos: The Nachos make a shocking plummet to eighth this week. Before the week started they saw the retirement of longtime and great leader Chrisi Blule, and the initiation of Zakster, longtime Nacho 2ic. They had one event this week against DCP, which was a pretty good one in which they got sizes of about 15.

9.United Countries of CP:The UCCP had a decent week, which began with the retirement of 32op. However they had two decent events, with sizes of around 10-15.

1o. Metal Warriors: Capping off at the bottom of the Top Ten, the MW had a pretty good week. They had two events only, both with sizes of around 10.

  7. No, I am NOT power-hungry, but If I was the leader of ACP right now, I would do quite a few things.
    1. I would post an active count so that I could tell who is active.
    2. On the join page, I would have it, at the VERY top so everyone will see it, in caps, “IF YOU ARE NOT AS RESPONSIBLE AND ACTIVE AS YOU CAN POSSIBLY BE, I WILL MOST LIKELY FIND OUT FROM ANOTHER OWNER, SO BE AS RESPONSIBLE AND ACTIVE AS POSSIBLE, COME TO EVENTS, WEAR THE UNIFORM, AND BE ON CHAT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. ALSO, WHEN THERE IS AN EVENT, THE MODS AND OWNERS WILL TELL YOU WHAT SERVER AND ROOM WE ARE IN. AND IF YOU ARE ON CHAT DURING AN EVENT, YOU MUST BE ON CLUB PENGUIN, TOO (unless you are retired)”
    3. I will tell (or remind) ALL mods, on Promotion days, to remember to enforce the rules on chat.
    4. I will make patrolling optional for Owners and a few selected mod ranks, but not to member ranks, meaning that ALL member rank have to patrol AT LEAST 2 servers a day. It’s actually pretty simple to patrol a server. All you have to do is go into every room on CP (except for all of the buildings, other than the Dojo and the Lighthouse) (INCLUDING the Iceberg and Ski Hill) and if you see another army, open a seperate tab and tell the chat IMMEDIATELY. (If someone you don’t know chases you or tries to drill on you, they might not be a threat. same with weirdly dressed people (I saw one while I was patrolling yesterday, no joke)). That’s it. Also, I’m not sure what I think of LT right now.

      • Hi Jan,interesting question. I didn’t nocietd this at all. I think this has something to do with the difference of the dynamic range both cameras are able to capture. As the 5D has a larger sensor and a higher resolution the dynamic range is larger as well. I nocietd this instantly when I got the camera. With the 5D highlights do not burn out so fast as with the 350D. Maybe that’s the reason why I always had to under expose with the 350D. Also I’m using manual mode every frequently with the 5D.Thanks for your thoughts. Maybe I should take some shots of one particular scene with both cameras.
